There are many resources available on the internet about writing LaTeX documents. This page contains links to some of them, but more links can be found on many of these pages. Two very useful books on using LaTeX are "LaTeX: A document Preparation System, User's Guide and Reference Manual" by Leslie Lamport and "The LaTeX Companion" by Goossens, Mittelbach, and Samarin. Both should be available in most larger bookstores and are indispensable if you use LaTeX often.
